Relationship Counseling

When we are in conflict with our partners, we feel acute pain, we long for things to get better. I specialize in helping couples who deeply care for each other but struggle with communication and conflict resolution, leading to feelings of disconnection and frustration in the relationship. My approach is collaborative, blending humor, directness, and authenticity with structured techniques and exercises. I work best with couples who are motivated to learn and grow together, open to feedback and introspection, and committed to strengthening their bond.

I have received training in the Gottman Method of couples therapy under the skilled supervision of Dr. Sheila Addison, LMFT, and training in consensual non-monogamy from the Institute for Relational Intimacy. I combine the science-backed tools and communication blueprints from the Gottman Institute with somatic therapy techniques to help couples improve their ability to manage conflict, learn how to be more in-tune with their body’s cues, explore boundaries and relationship agreements, and reignite sexual desire. Together, we’ll cultivate healthier communication and deepen your connection by improving your ability to vocalize your feelings and needs, with mutual respect and a focus on genuine partnership.

Individual Therapy

I specialize in supporting individuals who are struggling with anxiety, panic attacks, and sleep disturbances, who often feel disconnected from their bodies and overwhelmed by their thoughts. Clients come to me for help in navigating relationships, career changes, and major shifts in lifestyle. They often feel lost amidst the many choices available to them. Together, we can explore your inner world using somatic work and mindfulness techniques to manage your anxiety and create meaningful change in your life.

Clients are drawn to my authentic, relatable approach—seeing me as a compassionate guide rather than an “expert.” I believe in showing up as a real person and creating a safe space where you can do the same. If you’re looking for a therapist who is as real and open as you are, someone who walks alongside you rather than leading the way, I might be the right fit for your journey.

Walk and Talk Therapy

Imagine the last time you took a walk in nature and felt a renewed sense of energy, a clearer mind, and a deeper connection to your body. Nature has a unique way of healing us, yet in our hectic lives, finding time to get outside often falls by the wayside. Similarly, making time for therapy can be challenging, and sometimes we find ourselves choosing between physical movement and mental well-being.

Walk and talk therapy offers a powerful solution, combining the healing effects of nature with the benefits of therapy. For those who find sitting in an office or staring at a screen daunting, hiking side by side with me on a trail or talking on the phone with me while walking can open up new levels of conversation and self-discovery. Nature has a way of soothing anxiety, lifting spirits, and grounding us in the present moment. Through walk and talk therapy, we can reconnect with our environment—and in turn, reconnect with ourselves.

*I am currently pausing my hiking therapy practice in Santa Cruz starting October 1, 2024, as I am in the process of relocating. I will be offering phone therapy for folks who would like to continue walking during our sessions alongside online therapy.
